Spring Break – Park City, Utah

What a great time we had skiing in Park City. My brother and his family joined us on the trip—and the cousins had a great time sharing this experience together. Yvonne and I also had a chance to visit with Ron Jackenthal and his kids. We started our careers with Ron more than twenty years ago, when we all worked together at Cable & Wireless. Ron moved to Park City about 10 years ago, where he has been raising his children ever since.

The beginning of the week was typical Spring skiing—cold at night and 50’s during the day. As luck would have it, a cold front moved in the middle of the week and dumped 12-18 inches of fresh powder, making for ideal conditions. The last couple days were exceptional—cold with sunny, blue skies and lots of new snow.

We stayed at The Sky Lodge in historic Park City and couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. A boutique hotel within walking distance to the shops and restaurants, The Sky Lodge offered complimentary shuttle service to both Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley. The suites were spacious and clean, the hotel provided great service—and because we booked early—they gave us a steeply discounted rate.

The skiing options in Utah are plentiful—and after skiing Steamboat and Mt Bachelor (Bend, OR) the last several years, we found it to be very convenient. You can’t beat a direct flight into Salt Lake—and short drive to the mountains.

We look forward to visiting Utah again.
